To Confirm All-timer Epic Content
There is other good stuff here, and it is true that this is not as tight and spotless a show as many others from 77. However, NFA= EXTRA MUSTARD SPECIAL, Stella Blue = WONDERFULLY WARMLY SPECIAL, GDTRFB = HARD 10 EXTRAORDINARY, CASEY JONES = THE ONLY ONE LIKE IT.
The post-drums here belongs on the same essential listening list as Cornell Dew, 6/18/83 Scarlet, 1/22/78 Stephen, 9/24/76 Help>Slip>Frank etc... You are only hurting yourself by ignoring it.

He's Gone!!! Nice 2nd set.
People rave about the Casey from this show, and it's a hot one, although I'm not really sure if it's better than the 10/2/77 bustout.
For me the highlight is the drop-dead-gorgeous version of He's Gone - the outro jam is huge and absolutely SOARS! It's amazing and a must hear sleeper jam of 1977.
The 2nd is pretty satisfying all around though; not as legendary as the following night in Illinois, but a typically strong fall 77 outing. After He's Gone dissolves into drums, we get a juicy, laid back NFA, a very nice Stella, a sloppy but seriously kickin' GDTRFB, and the aforementioned CJ, of course.

CASEY JONES CASEY JONES CASEY JONES!!!!!
This show has it's share of highs & lows and won't flat-out disappoint you, but there's so much more from this monumental year that will FLOOR you......
.....having said that, the encore is my favorite "Casey Jones" EVER: it begins with a chuckling Weir harmony in the lyric and then the band PILEDRIVES it home. The longest, most FEROCIOUS version of all, taking on ALL comers from '71 > '72 and leaving them in the dust.
ESSENTIAL Grateful Dead....!!!!!!!
I'm gonna have to give this show 4 stars, based strictly on the merit of "Casey Jones". BettyBoard or AUD, it doesn't matter; Just Get It...!!!!!!!

@%^#* idiot ruins show!
Better than average show, with a great Stella>GDTRF. That said, to my ears the sound quality isn't that crisp, and regardless, you can hear some idiot continually yelling "Yea! Yea!" throughout the entire show. I can't believe the people around this guy didn't shut him up at some point . . . Thanks for ruining this show for all eternity #$%@#!^!!

Great first set / killer killer killer He's Gone+CASEY JONES
Second set starts out with a slamming samspon and you think ok here we go, but it's not until he's gone where things get bumping again and they crush it with a weird and trippy NFA, great Stella and kicking GDRFB - set I's lazy lightning>supp, BE women are also great...
Dont lose faith listen to the whole thing this is hot but not on the scale of some of the other monster 77's but comparable to Oklahoma...

Betty cooks up another great one
VERY nice show! The NFA> Stella Blue> GDTRFB is only one of two ever played...aaaand it SMOKES!!...it accurately conveys the great flowing shifts in momentum that only the Dead could do.

first show
Thanks to whomever is responsible for this site. This was my first show and I have been searching for a high quality copy of it for many years. This is an excellent recording of an excellent show.Way to go Betty. This show got me hooked and I saw many many shows up to the bitter end in chicago 95. Thanks again for the site and thanks again to the Dead.

Better then I expected
I would definately recomend this show. Good prefomances of all the songs and the sound quality is awesome. The only gripe I have is that the beginning of Promised Land is clipped. Other then that this is a damn good show.

How has no one reviewed this Betty Board yet?
This is a very nice show; very emblematic of '77 on the whole, and it's a Betty Board to boot!
Definitely worth a listen.
